Analysis of "Kyrie I" from Bach's Mass in B Minor

An in-depth musical analysis by Stephen Smith of the great opening chorus of J.S.Bach's B Minor Mass. The movement is considered in terms of the organizing principles most often used by Bach -- fugue and ritornello form -- and is shown to be a unique fusion of the two.
