TALE OF TWO CITIES

In the summer of 2011, Fran and I sailed into Venice aboard a tall ship at sunrise with our grandsons Chris and Peter. We spent three days showing them its cafés, canals and alleyways, and one evening found a chamber concert in an ancient church. From there we flew to Copenhagen to meet our Norwegian friends Tom and Kjersti Langballe after half a century. Together we visited Kronborg Castle at Helsingør, Shakespeare’s Elsinore, and revisited the city I first came to know on a business trip to the Burmeister & Wain shipyard.
