A Belgian footballer asked to leave his club in 1990. They said no. Thirty years later, players are suing FIFA for billions, and it all goes back to his case. This is the story of Jean-Marc Bosman: the offer, the lawsuit, the 1995 ruling that ended transfer fees for out-of-contract players, and what the man himself was left with.

Sources differ on some figures (the fee Liege asked for, the size of the pay cut), so the video says "about". The €780,000 payout, his later hardship, Chelsea's "first" and Charleroi's withdrawn offer are single-source or reported items and are marked on screen. The Justice for Players figures (about 100,000 players, damages of "billions") are the foundation's own estimate, not a court finding, and the case is still pending as far as I could confirm.
"My take" lines are opinion, not fact.
