'THE PROSECUTION CASE MUST STAND OR FALL ON ITS OWN' Defense lead counsel Sheila Sison criticized the prosecution’s suggestion that Vice President Sara Duterte could present her evidence on other platforms following its decision to withdraw three of the four impeachment articles against her. Sison said it was unacceptable to suggest that the defense use other platforms after 38 days of proceedings, during which the prosecution presented witnesses and evidence that she said had damaged Duterte’s reputation. She stressed that the decision to withdraw Articles I, III, and IV was the prosecution’s own, and any consequences of that decision should be borne by the prosecution—not the defense. “That’s their burden.
