Mod Your Marshall... WITHOUT Modding It!

Can you mod your Marshall... without actually modifying it? In this video, I take a look at the Frog Amps Nikidizer, an all-valve extra gain stage pedal designed to add a genuine 12AX7 tube gain stage to your amplifier. The idea is simple: achieve the feel and response of a Jose-modded Marshall without reaching for a soldering iron or permanently modifying your amp. I put the Nikidizer through several Marshall-style amplifiers, including the Marshall Studio Classic and Marshall JCM800 Modified Series, to hear exactly what it brings to the table. Does it capture that classic hot-rodded Marshall character? Let's find out. Along the way I also discuss what I really liked, a few things I personally would have liked to see, and who I think this pedal is best suited for.
