WASHINGTON 1972 Cold Case Solved After 47 Years — She Never Made It to Her Horse On August 23, 1972, 20-year-old Jody Loomis left home on her bicycle, heading toward a stable in the Bothell area to visit her horse. She never made it there. Along the way, she was attacked on a secluded road in Snohomish County, Washington, and fatally shot. For nearly 47 years, Jody's murder remained unsolved. Investigators preserved evidence from the scene, including the boots Jody was wearing. Decades later, forensic testing uncovered DNA evidence from one of the boots. The unknown DNA profile did not initially match anyone in law-enforcement databases, leaving detectives with a mystery that seemed impossible to solve. Then modern forensic genealogy changed everything. Investigators worked with genetic genealogy to trace the unknown DNA through family connections. The investigation eventually led them to Terrence Miller, a Washington man who was 77 when he was arrested in 2019. Detectives obtained DNA from a discarded coffee cup and said it matched the DNA recovered from Jody's boot. Miller was charged with first-degree murder and went to trial in 2020. He died by suicide at his home just hours before the jury returned a guilty verdict. In this documentary, we follow Jody Loomis's final journey, the evidence investigators preserved for decades, the DNA breakthrough, the genetic genealogy investigation, and the extraordinary courtroom ending that finally brought an answer to a case that had haunted Washington for almost half a century. 👉 Check out our best-performing video on the channel: [Insert Best Video Link] From a routine bicycle ride to a decades-long investigation, this is the story of Jody Loomis and the evidence that finally revealed what happened to her. #JodyLoomis #ColdCase #WashingtonTrueCrime #TrueCrime #ColdCaseSolved #DNAEvidence #GeneticGenealogy #TrueCrimeDocumentary #UnsolvedMystery #MurderCase
