400 meters of blackberry bushes, two days of work, and a lot of brush cutting… 🌿💪
For this project, we had one main mission: clear an approximately 400-meter-long strip that had become completely overgrown.
Over time, blackberry bushes, tall grass, and other vegetation had taken over the entire area. It wasn’t just starting to look neglected — it had also become a practical problem.
Some of the tenants were struggling to properly access the building’s heating room, so it was definitely time to open everything back up again.
And for this job, there was one tool doing most of the hard work: the brush cutter.
We used both a gas-powered brush cutter and a battery-powered brush cutter, which gave us a great opportunity to compare the two under genuinely demanding conditions.
After working our way through hundreds of meters of thick grass and stubborn blackberry bushes, we noticed a clear difference.
The battery-powered brush cutter did its job, but under this kind of heavy and continuous load, it simply didn’t feel as powerful as the gas machine. The batteries also drained pretty quickly, which meant regular battery changes throughout the day.
For normal garden maintenance, we still really like battery-powered equipment. It’s quieter, comfortable to work with, and absolutely has its place.
But for 400 meters of heavy overgrowth and blackberry bushes, our conclusion was pretty clear:
Gas still wins. 😅💪
The entire project took us two days, although we didn’t spend both days cutting. The first day was mainly about fighting our way through all 400 meters with the brush cutters. The second day was spent cleaning everything up, collecting the huge amount of cut material, and loading it all for disposal.
And honestly, sometimes the cleanup after a job like this feels like just as much work as the cutting itself. 😂
By the end, the entire strip was accessible again, the tenants could reach the heating room properly, and an area that had been swallowed by vegetation finally looked maintained again.
Projects like this really show how much work can hide behind a simple before-and-after transformation.
Now we’re curious:
Gas or battery — which one would you choose for 400 meters of heavy blackberry bushes? 🌿
