The Banda Sea with the Maluku Islands and the Spice Islands is one of the top diving destinations of Indonesia. Especially the bay of Ambon with its iconic dive sites Laha Datu 1 to 3 offers fascinating marine life and is considered as one of the top Muck Diving Hotspots. Here we find the iconic Hairy Frogfish, the Ambon Scorpion Fish and the Weedy Scoprion Fish (Rhinopia). Also many crabs and shrimps as well as cuttlefish and sea slugs are present in the bay. Outside of the bay and on the south side of the island we find stunning underwater cave systems and beautiful reefs to explore. Welcome to three week dive trip to the Banda Sea, the Spice Islands and the Maluku Island of Ambon in October 2025. Our trip started with 7 nights at the wonderful Ambon Dive Resort and we would like to thank our amazing dive guide, the boat crew and the entire resort team for this unforgettable experience. For animal identification please refer to the video subtitles. With best regards, Sandra and Markus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Species list: 02:17 Day octopus 02:26 Striped catfish 02:35 Ribbon eel 02:43 Two-stripe damselfish 02:52 White-eyed moray 03:03 Coconut octopus 03:20 Clark's anemonefish 03:40 Longhorn cowfish 03:49 Leaf scorpionfish 03:58 Spiny seahorse 04:06 Fingerprint toby 04:17 Common seahorse 04:26 Snowflake moray 04:35 Short tailed pipefish 05:03 Coconut octopus 05:12 Mating common seahorse 05:31 Brunnenbauer 05:40 Leopard flounder 05:49 Broadclub cuttlefish 06:08 Clark's anemonefish 06:17 Barred-fin moray 06:26 Painted frogfish 06:35 Peacock mantis shrimp 07:38 Yellowtail blenny 07:44 Reptilian snake eel 07:51 Ornate ghost pipefish 08:14 Painted frogfish 08:23 Shortpouch pygmy pipehorse 08:30 Ambon scorpionfish 08:53 Broadclub cuttlefish 09:11 Shortpouch pygmy pipehorse 09:19 Spiny seahorse 09:27 Harlequin shrimp 09:41 Taylor's inflator filefish 09:57 Napoleon snake eel 10:05 Glabrous mantis shrimp 10:13 Painted frogfish 10:44 Squat anemone shrimp 11:01 Variable jawfish 11:17 Juvenile weedy scorpionfish 11:31 Weedy scorpionfish 12:03 Blackspotted puffer 12:17 Snowflake moray 12:33 White-lined crinoid crab 12:42 Anemone hermit crab 12:51 Bearded scorpionfish 12:59 Painted frogfish 13:07 Hairy frogfish 14:24 False cleanerfish 14:33 Blotched jawfish 15:52 Blue-streak fusilier 16:00 Yellow boxfish 16:08 Threadfin anthias 16:16 Orbicular burrfish 16:24 Wire coral goby 17:35 Fire dartfish 17:43 Freckled hawkfish 18:31 Grooved razorfish 18:38 Clark's anemonefish 18:47 Harlequin swimming crab 19:11 Spiny tiger shrimp 19:42 Coleman's shrimp 20:14 Striped bumblebee shrimp 20:47 Emperor shrimp 21:11 Baba's crinoid squat lobster 21:34 Tiger mantis shrimp 21:50 Orang-utan crab 21:59 Soft coral crab 22:30 Spider decorator crab 22:55 Decorator spider crab 24:05 Common lionfish 24:15 Hairy frogfish 24:24 Estuarine stonefish 24:29 Painted frogfish 24:34 Fingered dragonet 24:46 Giant frogfish 24:56 Ornate ghost pipefish 25:15 Hairy shrimp 25:41 Orang-utan crab 25:48 Boxer crab 26:05 Flamboyant cuttlefish 26:27 Anemone porcelain crab 26:51 Purple urchin shrimp 27:05 Xenia soft coral shrimp 27:15 Warty frogfish 27:27 Banded file clam 27:37 Painted frogfish 27:53 Dwarf lionfish 28:00 Wide-barred shrimpgoby 28:06 Bandtail waspfish 28:15 Orange-black Dragonet 28:36 Broad-banded shrimp goby 28:41 Indian dascyllus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapters in this video: 00:00 Arriving at the Ambon Dive Resort 02:09 Amazing Muck Diving 07:04 The Critters of Ambon 14:49 Outside of the Bay 18:06 Nudibranchs and Shrimps 23:46 So many Critters ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Copyright-Free Music in this video: Ocean by THBD Visit THBD on Soundcloud:   / thbdsultan   Visit THBD on Facebook:   / thbds
