今回のWABI CHANNELは、日本各地の水石の産地と、その特徴についてご紹介します。 加茂川石・瀬田川石・古谷石・神居古潭石など、代表的な産地の水石を例に、それぞれの石質や石肌の違い、そして見極めのポイントを解説します。 また、産地が異なっていても見分けがつかないほど似た石を実際に比較しながら、「産地」とは何かという視点にも触れていきます。 水石は、産地や名称だけで価値が決まるものではなく、その石が持つ質や景情によって、水石としての魅力が見出されるものです。 本動画が、水石の本質を捉える一助となれば幸いです。 In this episode of WABI CHANNEL, we introduce the regional origins of suiseki across Japan and the distinctive characteristics of these stones. Using representative stones such as those from the Kamo River, Seta River, Furuya, and Kamui Kotan, we explore the differences in stone quality and surface texture, as well as key points for discerning them. We also compare stones that are so similar that they are difficult to distinguish, even when their origins differ, and reflect on what “place of origin” truly means. Suiseki is not defined solely by where a stone comes from or by its name, but by the qualities it possesses and the landscape it evokes.
