Psalm 34 | Morning Prayer for Protection When Fear Will Not Let Go!

Psalm 34 is a morning prayer when you wake up braced. David wrote it with Saul still hunting him. Nothing in his circumstances had improved by one inch — and what he reports is not that the trouble left: "I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears." — Psalm 34:4 (World English Bible, public domain) Not delivered from all his troubles. From his fears. The trouble stayed. The fear went. This is a quiet morning prayer through eleven verses — the poor man who cried, the faces that were not covered with shame, the LORD who is near to the broken-hearted, and the invitation to taste and see.
