In healthcare, it is important to make policy and individual patient decisions based on reliable evidence from research studies. This includes the evidence-based use of prognosis findings and prediction models. In this video, I provide a brief overview of existing and emerging methods guidance for conducting systematic reviews of prognosis studies and prediction models, from defining the research to question and selecting studies, to data extraction, critical appraisal, meta-analysis and reporting. I focus on each of three types of prognosis review: • overall prognosis • prognostic factors • prediction models (algorithms) Plus, I announce a new book! The "Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Prognosis Research and Prediction Models" this brings together existing and emerging guidance for conducting each of these 3 types of prognosis review. See https://tinyurl.com/mr5t7smz (book is free for Cochrane members, which is also free to join) Thanks for watching and listening!
