Cop Hired a Hitman for His Wife — His Version in Court DESTROYS Him!

I'm Harlan Pierce, and today we're unpacking Robert Fratta's two murder trials and the interrogation that started it all. Today's case follows two Texas juries and one long night of questioning. On November 9, 1994, Farah Fratta, 33 and a mother of three, was shot twice in the head in her Atascocita garage. Her estranged husband, Robert Fratta, a Missouri City public safety officer, was locked in a custody fight with her. Detectives questioned him for 14 hours, and he talked about threats against himself, custody and her "lifestyle," while a thousand dollars sat in his glove compartment. A .38 revolver he bought in 1982 was later linked to the scene through a man arrested for a bank robbery. Fratta was arrested in April 1995, and a 1996 jury convicted him. A federal court threw out that verdict because accomplice confessions could not be used. At the 2009 retrial, a medical examiner described the close-range shots, and a second jury found him guilty of capital murder and again sentenced him to death. He was executed in Huntsville in 2023.
