In 2014, veteran Orange County prosecutor Jeff Ferguson sat down for a local campaign interview and argued that crime victims deserved a real voice in court. He won, and became a Superior Court judge. In August 2023, after a night of drinking and arguing, he shot his wife Sheryl in their Anaheim Hills home, then texted his clerk: "I just shot my wife." He has always said it was an accident. This is the case told through the recordings: the campaign interview, the police station video, the 911 calls, his own TV interview, two trials, and a sentencing where Sheryl's family asked the court for leniency. This video is in memory of Sheryl Ferguson. ⚠️ This video discusses a fatal shooting. It contains no graphic imagery, but viewer discretion is advised.
