Too Far Away

Family emergency, but you’re a thousand miles from home? “Too Far Away” tells the story of a truck driver who gets the call every over-the-road driver dreads. His father is in the hospital. His wife and family are there, but he’s sitting in a truck cab, trying to find a way home before it’s too late. Many people can leave work when a family emergency happens. For a long-haul trucker, getting home can mean finding a safe place for the truck and facing miles that won’t disappear fast enough. This emotional trucking song is about that helpless feeling—and the family holding everything together while a driver is away. If you’ve ever taken a call from home while you were on the road, share your story in the comments. This one is for truck drivers and the families who wait for them.
