Misty morning hike by the fish ponds [1h:45m]

Welcome to another episode on my channel! Today I'm taking you with me for a morning walk along the dikes between the fish ponds of Stawno, part of the Milicz Ponds nature reserve in Lower Silesia, Poland. We start in complete darkness, in fog so thick I can't see more than a few metres ahead. As the light slowly returns, the landscape comes out of the mist: water, reeds and the occasional bird appearing from the white. Now and then I stop to take a photo. These ponds were first dug by Cistercian monks in the 13th century. Today the Barycz Valley (Dolina Baryczy) is one of the largest carp-farming landscapes in Europe and a Ramsar wetland that attracts birdwatchers from all over the country. No talking, just footsteps and the sounds of the morning for you to enjoy.
