The Last CN 589 To Arnprior Before the Washouts

Filmed July 1st 2026 Check out the photos I take also: https://www.flickr.com/people/1945087... CN 589 ran to Kott inc on the Smiths Falls sub as they normally do. Then they shoved back to Federal Junction and served the Nylene Canada Plant in Arnprior, Ontario. They would have passed over those washouts just before the ground eroded away. Had 589 departed later in the morning, it is possible they could have been stranded or much worse. Luckily, everyone got home safe that day. Repair work took 2 weeks. 589 skipped the Nylene Turn the week after, as MoW was still in progress. They then ran the week after, as service had resumed. The crossing at Corkstown still worked. They tested it while I was here. I caught them at McCarthy on the Walkley line, then headed for the QGRY. That meant I drove through downtown Ottawa on Canada. A point to improve for the after-action review. Point to sustain, the QGRY was a great chase. I should've checked that out sooner. The QGRY will be my third ever G&W Railway after the OVR and HCR.
