John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) head toward the pub, though Marlena is clearly still hesitant about facing everyone, and a quick detour to her office turns out to be more important than John realizes. Bo (Peter Reckell) breaks the news to Victor (John Aniston) and Kate (Lauren Koslow), placing the blame squarely on Stefano, whose whereabouts remain a mystery. Victor agrees to attend the funeral despite everything between him and Bo, and once Kate steps out, Victor and Bo have it out over her behavior at Tuscany and his accusation that she only accepted his proposal out of spite. Surprisingly, it ends with Victor apologizing and announcing he is moving back into their shared bedroom. At the pub, the Bradys and Hortons gather around Bo and Shawn D (Jason Cook) but things get tense fast once John and Marlena arrive. Bo rejects a grief book Marlena brought him outright, still convinced she is to blame, while Marlena admits she nearly walked away from her practice entirely before deciding against it, insisting nobody could have known just how far gone "Hope" (Kristian Alfonso) really was. Upstairs, Shawn calls Belle (Kirsten Storms) to vent about feeling underestimated by every adult around him, then quietly admits to Bo that the woman who died never really felt like his mother.
