It is a fascinating region with a rich history, unique culture, ancient settlements, colourful traditions, wildlife, historic forts, temples and communities that have adapted to life in one of South Asia’s remarkable desert environments. Tharparkar, located in southeastern Sindh near the India–Pakistan border, is especially fascinating because of its diverse cultural heritage and distinctive way of life. From the famous Nagarparkar and Karoonjhar Mountains to historic forts, temples, traditional villages, desert landscapes and the city of Mithi, there is so much to discover. This episode is only the beginning of my Tharparkar adventure.
