I made one exception.” A slow-burn dark romance ballad: a notebook full of crossed-out names, a river at dawn — and the one name he never crosses out. ▶ Follow BAHHLEE LIVE on TikTok:   / nomercy_daddy   Chapters 0:00 Notebook — the river at night 2:36 Bridge 2:52 Final chorus 3:19 The last line Lyrics Notebook. Last page. Your name. There's a list in the back of this notebook names crossed out in the same blue ink a captain, a brother's friend, a man on the bridge I don't hold grudges, I just stop answering You came in at two with your shoes in your hand you didn't say it, you didn't have to I saw it in the way you hung the keys and I walked down to the water instead of the door The river doesn't ask what I decided it just keeps moving like I should I've cut people off for a lot less than this so why is your name still the first line I don't forgive. I made one exception you're the only name I never crossed out I've walked away from people for less but I can't walk past the porch light you left on Dawn comes up the colour of tin the water's cold enough to be honest I rehearse the speech I'd give anyone else and it comes out as, are you hungry You're awake behind the glass, pretending to sleep I know your breathing like I know a map and I'm still not going to say it's okay I'm going to say you're mine, and it's the same thing I don't forgive. I made one exception you're the only name I never crossed out I've walked away from people for less but I can't walk past the porch light you left on I'm not soft. Ask anyone who knows me. I'm just a man with one thing he can't cross out. I don't forgive. I made one exception and I'd make it again at the same hour every door I closed, I closed for good and you're the only one I leave open Report: list updated. One name stays. Over.
