Imane Tifyur (born Iman Bousnan) is a prominent Moroccan Rifian singer, composer, and artist dedicated to the preservation and modernization of Amazigh culture. Originally from Ben Tayeb in the Driouch region of northeastern Morocco, she adopted the stage name "Tifyur" a compound Amazigh phrase meaning "more beautiful than the moon" to reflect her artistic vision. Over nearly two decades, she has established herself as a powerful contemporary voice for the Rif region, blending traditional heritage with modern musical arrangements.
Her musical career gained significant momentum in the late 2000s and early 2010s through a series of foundational studio albums. Works such as Moulay Mouhand (2007), Tafuyt (2008), and Thounguint (2013) showcased her distinctive vocal style and poetic lyricism, solidifying her reputation within the North African folk and world music scenes. Her songs frequently center on themes of identity, homeland, and social consciousness, making her a vital cultural ambassador for the Amazigh people.
In recent years, Tifyur has expanded her artistic footprint beyond traditional concert stages into multimedia and theatrical productions. She has participated in large-scale heritage projects, including the acclaimed theatrical work Shalla, directed by Amine Nassour, which fuses storytelling, history, and live performance. Alongside her active recording and performing career, she remains a passionate advocate for regional artists, pushing for greater institutional support and wider recognition for Rifian music across Morocco and internationally.
