Chamonix to Annecy 62km Paragliding cross-country (XC) Flight.

June 21st, 2026. Forecast was for high cloud base & low winds, me Dave & Pete decided to set a task of flying to Annecy. Goal being Doussard. Route 11:37 - PlanPraz take off 2000m. Scratched for a few minutes, then climbed to 3724m in one climb. Strong but smooth. 11:54 – left Chamonix, with altitude & other gliders as markers, I decided to skip the Fiz, and head straight for the area of Varan. 12:12 – Arrived at Varan/Tete du Colonney at 2400m. I could see gliders in the valley climbing slowly but decided to head for terrain as clouds were building 3500m plus over the back. After 5-10 mins of scratching (rough) I got an 800m climb. I left at 3350m & started the 10k glide to the Tete over Sallanches. 12:43 – Arrived at Quatre Tetes. Joined a few other wings in a very rough thermal, decided to leave for the Aravis proper at 3300m Followed the Aravis over the Cul until Mont Charvin. Then headed East at 3400m. 13:33 – Headed towards the back of La Tournette, over Sulan’s. Clouds building on top of Tournette. Observed a wing very low on the tree line, going up well. 13:51 – Arrived at Tournette. Had the height, but took a few turns, then took a slow decent to Goal (Doussard).
