Deja Vu. Paragliding XC Flight - Chamonix to Annecy 62km......

24th June 2026. Basically, a re-run of the Chamonix to Annecy XC flight I did on the 21st June 26. Forecast was for lighter winds, slightly lower base & stronger thermals. 11:59 - Take off PlanPraz 2000m. Went round the bowl to the usual house thermal. Very strong climb 1300m up to 3400m before leaving Chamonix valley @ 12:12 12:29 - Arrived Tete du Colonney @ 2400m. Not many wings about, stuck to the terrain & climbed out to 3200m, left for the Tete @ 12:40 12:50 - Quatre Tetes @ 2458m. Super strong but smooth compared to the 21st up to 3200m plus. Headed down the Aravis using bar. Underestimated one cloud and got sucked in & up to 3500m 😊 13:28 - My bump tolerance was wearing thin at this point, so I decided to skip Mont Charvin shorty after crossing Col des Aravis & head to the back of La Tournette 13:48 - Once above Tournette I decided to land as Pete was on route. I think a return trip would have been relativity easy. I’ll save that for next time.
