I spent a hot July night photographing the Milky Way at a scenic railroad crossing in western Wisconsin, not far from the Twin Cities. Before the stars came out, I even had the chance to photograph a train as it came around the corner at sunset.
In this photography adventure, I'll take you along as I scout the composition, photograph the sunset and wait for the Milky Way to line up over the railroad crossing. I'll also share my camera settings and techniques for photographing the Milky Way and creating sharp, detailed night-sky images.
