*Soon to be re-routed* AL ES165 on Bus Route 279

In this video, I take a ride on the 279 between Tottenham Hotspur FC and Edmonton Angel Shopping Centre. This is another one of the routes involved in an effort TfL are making to improve the transport network along the A10 and reduce route paralleling/duplication. I'll detail what's happening below, but you can also find it in the pinned comment. -Route 259 will now run between Ponders End, Enfield Bus Garage and Holloway, Nag's Head, meaning that the section of the route between King's Cross and Holloway will be withdrawn. -Route 279 will now run between Waltham Cross and Stamford Hill, meaning that the section of the route between Seven Sisters to Manor House will be withdrawn. -Route 349 will be scrapped, with its replacement being the amended Routes 259 and 279 (Route 259 will cover its northern section with the 279 covering its southern section) As this is a well-used part of the network, there will be no changes to the frequencies of the 259 and 279. The 259 will continue to run an every 10 minutes service during the daytime, and the 279 an every 6-7 minute service. As well as this, changes are also being made to the 310 on this date, but I will detail those in a coming video. Ever since these changes have been proposed, they have sparked controversy, particularly for those local to this corridor. Understandably, some people in the area feel as though their voices aren't being heard by TfL and that the firm are just continuing to go ahead with changes that will only really serve an economic benefit to them. But what side of the coin are you on with these changes? Let me know in the comments! Route 279 is run out of Arriva's Enfield (E) Bus Garage and runs between Waltham Cross and Manor House. The route uses Electroliners only, and only very rarely sees DW strays. By tomorrow, this route will be amended to run between Waltham Cross and Stamford Hill, replacing the southern section of the soon-to-be-withdrawn Route 349. © 2026 Jayden Emmanuel.
