Textiles are my first materiality love, followed closely by costume jewellery. In this video I'm combining the two to make a chainmaille top for an anniversary date night with my partner, who happens to be a blacksmith, so a metallic garment felt fitting. This isn't chainmaille in the medieval or Cosplay sense, it's chainmaille as fashion. I'm sharing my design inspiration (Stella McCartney, vintage Paco Rabanne, Ganni) along with a full walkthrough of the build, from opening jump rings to the final fit adjustments. To make this project easy to follow at home, I've partnered with The Ring Lord on a materials kit, so all the guesswork is taken out for you.
