A nightly question—returning each night, reopening the wound.
Can one like the tender mother ever be found again?
Our gentle mother—they deprived us of her.
The house that once shone to the heavens is dark tonight.
Alas, we are wronged—surrounded by pain.
One who’s lost his mother will forever live in sorrow.
We call to her, hoping she returns in a dream.
How hard life becomes for one who lost his mother.
Impossible… our mother will never return.
Can one like the tender mother ever be found again?
Her scent was heaven—and we’ve been deprived of it.
Now, instead of her fragrance, we smell burning wood.
We lived in her embrace—now her shroud wraps her.
We never knew that death could take away our paradise.
Morning and night, she filled us with love.
She used to hold us in mercy—now the earth holds her.
Bilal… call the adhan for the people of grief, Bilal.
Can one like the tender mother ever be found again?
She stayed up for us, comforting our nights.
She left us awake in tears, while her eyes closed forever.
When night falls, all of us are drawn—helpless—
Longing pulls us to the warmth of her embrace.
All tragedies seem small compared to this loss.
The grave’s soil has taken our mother away.
A shadow… that’s all that remained after the blow.

Can one like the tender mother ever be found again?
Her memory lives in our minds—those tyrants crushed her.
And the witness to the tragedy is her broken rib.
The hardest of wounds—when Mohsin fell.
But the heartbreak is from that tyrant’s strike at the door.
She cried out, calling for help and moaning in pain.
“My enemy struck me… and blood filled my eyes.”
She called, “Come, O Murtadha—come!”
Can one like the tender mother ever be found again?
Ali washed her—his tears falling down.
Never was there one wrapped in a shroud that carried a flower.
His grief was hers—and when he buried her—
It was as if Ali placed his very life into her grave.
Every night, Ali would visit and smell her resting place.
And he’d say, “Your children were slaughtered by orphanhood.”
Reunion with her… will never come again.

Can one like the tender mother ever be found again?
Tonight we weep—for the two grandsons and for Zainab.
This is only the beginning—we await the rest of the tragedies.
And the greatest heartbreak—this orphaned one.
Tomorrow, they’ll place her upon the camels with the captives.
Come, mother—Hussain has been slain.
And his head, mother—it’s raised upon their spears.
Mountains—my sorrow upon my chest feels like mountains.
