What Does God’s Love Look Like? | 1 John 4:9–10

What does God's love look like? For the final Sunday of Advent, Pastor Straton Michelle examines 1 John 4:9–10 and the way God's love is demonstrated through the coming of Jesus Christ. John describes the incarnation and Christ's death and resurrection as the love of God made manifest, showing that God's love is not merely something He says, but something He puts into action. The sermon considers why Christ came, emphasizing that God's motivation is love rather than condemnation. Through Christ, those who were dead in sin are offered life, reconciliation with God, and a restored relationship with their Creator. The gospel meets us where we are, but it also calls us into a transformed life. The message then turns toward how Christians are called to love others. Our love is rooted first in God's love for us, demonstrated through Christ's willingness to give Himself for us.
