What Does It Mean to Believe Jesus? | John 4:43–54

What does it mean to truly believe the words of Jesus? Continuing through the Gospel of John, Pastor Straton Michelle examines John 4:43–54 and the healing of an official’s son. The man comes to Jesus because his son is near death and asks Jesus to come and heal him. Instead, Jesus simply tells him, “Go, your son will live.” The man believes Jesus’ words and goes home, discovering that his son was healed at the very hour Jesus spoke. This sermon considers the purpose of Jesus’ miracles and why John calls them “signs.” Miracles point beyond themselves to who Jesus is and testify to His divine authority. The message also looks at what this story teaches us about faith: believing Jesus means trusting His words and following Him even when we cannot yet see the outcome.
