In this video, we're looking at balancing, agility, and flow work. All of these practices are great for developing more athletic movement competence. We're working on developing the quality of adaptability - being responsive and creative in our movements.
I've drawn upon MovNat and Fighting Monkey training styles for the balancing and agility, respectively. The flow work is inspired by multiple disciplines across martial arts and dance.
This practice is a little different, but addictive fun. There's a very playful element here. The practices challenge not only your body but your mind as well. I could've trained this stuff for hours. It might feel awkward at first but with consistent practice you'll adapt and you'll see big improvements in just a few weeks.
Level: Intermediate.
Balance [0:07]: 5-15-minutes of practice on a rail, curb, or 2x4
Agility [3:39]: Jenga blocks or any small objects
Flow [8:18]: Open space
