Canada’s Armoured Combat Support Vehicle (ACSV) is a family of protected vehicles built to keep Canadian Army units supplied, connected, and moving. Based on the LAV 6.0 platform and produced by General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada, the ACSV program includes eight variants for jobs such as troop and cargo transport, ambulance support, command posts, electronic warfare, engineering, and maintenance recovery.
This video explains why the ACSV is designed around support work rather than the main battle-tank role, what its different configurations do, and how the fleet fits into Canada’s wider effort to modernize its land forces. It follows the program from the first vehicles built in 2020 through deliveries beginning in 2023 and the Army’s initial operational capability declaration in January 2025.
Canada’s planned fleet totals 550 vehicles. The equipment plan targets full equipment around 2029, while supporting infrastructure is scheduled later. The variants are being fielded on different schedules, so the video distinguishes the program’s overall fleet target from which specific variants are already in service.
