The complete AWS Certified CloudOps Engineer - Associate (SOA-C03) course. 10 hours 38 minutes, all five exam domains at their published weights, 173 worked scenarios and four practice exams. Every scenario is original. Nothing here is a reproduced question bank. ──────── WHY THIS COURSE IS DIFFERENT Almost nobody fails SOA-C03 because a service is unfamiliar. They fail because all four options would work, and only one respects a constraint buried in the last sentence. So this course is built around the decision, not the service. Multi-AZ against read replica, metric filter against Logs Insights, DeletionPolicy against UpdateReplacePolicy - each with the one question that separates them. Every scenario names the sentence that decides it, and explains why each WRONG option is wrong. ▸ 173 worked scenarios, every option explained ▸ 84 confusion pairs the exam sets side by side ▸ A module on exam technique: qualifiers and the eight distractor patterns ▸ Four practice exams, 80 questions weighted to the real paper, no repeats ──────── WHAT CHANGED UNDER THE EXAM SOA-C03 replaced SOA-C02 in September 2025, and the guide was revised to v1.1 in June 2026. Most material predates one or both. Containers are the biggest gap. ECR, ECS and EKS were OUT of scope in C02 and are in scope now. C02-era material has no equivalent content. ECS blue/green is the sharpest test of whether a source is current. Any course still saying it needs CodeDeploy predates July 2025, when it became native to ECS. Certification content also lags the catalogue. CloudTrail Lake closed to new customers in May 2026, Incident Manager in November 2025, ARC readiness check in April 2026 - and all three remain in the exam guide. The rule: answer from the exam guide, know the gap, and do not let the second talk you out of the first. ──────── THE EXAM 65 questions in 130 minutes. 50 scored, 15 unscored and not identified. You need 720 of 1000 on a compensatory basis - you do not need to pass every domain, only the exam overall. No penalty for guessing, so never leave a blank. There is NO hands-on lab section. Labs belonged to C02 and were suspended in 2023. Several prominent sites still say otherwise. If English is not your first language, request the ESL +30 minutes accommodation BEFORE you schedule. DOMAIN WEIGHTS Domain 1 - Monitoring, Logging, Analysis, Remediation, and Performance Optimization: 22% Domain 2 - Reliability and Business Continuity: 22% Domain 3 - Deployment, Provisioning, and Automation: 22% Domain 4 - Security and Compliance: 16% Domain 5 - Networking and Content Delivery: 18% ──────── HOW TO USE THIS COURSE 1. Watch in order. Later modules assume earlier vocabulary. 2. Pause at each scenario and commit to an answer. 3. Take Practice Exam 1 after the teaching modules. Score it BY DOMAIN. 4. Review every wrong answer until you can say why all four options are right or wrong. Then Exam 2. 5. Leave several days before Exams 3 and 4. Recall after a gap predicts a pass. 6. Rewatch What Changed and Confusion Pairs the night before. ──────── CHAPTERS 0:00 Start Here 8:01 The CloudWatch Metric Model 25:00 Alarms That Work 40:48 CloudWatch Logs and the Unified Agent 57:17 Reading Logs at Scale 1:12:19 CloudTrail and the Audit Trail 1:26:53 EventBridge and Event Routing 1:41:06 Systems Manager for Operations 2:00:09 Automated Remediation and Self-Healing 2:15:06 Compute and EBS Performance 2:30:54 Storage and Database Performance 2:46:15 Observability Beyond CloudWatch 3:01:16 Auto Scaling in Depth 3:18:38 Load Balancing and Its Error Codes 3:33:48 Multi-AZ, Failover and Health Checks 3:48:10 Scaling the Data Tier 4:03:18 Backup and Restore 4:18:09 Disaster Recovery 4:32:40 CloudFormation: Template Anatomy 4:48:41 CloudFormation Operations 5:03:30 Beyond CloudFormation 5:17:54 Images and Containers for Operators 5:33:35 Deployment Strategies 5:47:14 Event-Driven Operations 6:03:10 IAM Mechanics 6:20:57 Multi-Account Governance 6:35:12 Encryption and Secrets 6:50:22 Compliance and Detection 7:04:53 VPC Fundamentals 7:18:36 Security Groups, NACLs and Troubleshooting 7:32:42 Private and Hybrid Connectivity 7:46:24 Route 53 8:00:36 CloudFront and the Edge 8:14:58 What Changed, and What AWS Renamed 8:28:57 Confusion Pairs 8:48:30 Exam Mechanics 9:01:25 Practice Exam 1 9:26:04 Practice Exam 2 9:49:29 Practice Exam 3 10:13:45 Practice Exam 4 ──────── WHO THIS IS FOR AWS describes the target candidate as having about a year of hands-on experience operating AWS workloads. You should be comfortable reading JSON and YAML, and understand IP addresses, subnets, ports and DNS. SOA-C03 is the CloudOps Engineer certification, renamed from SysOps Administrator. Both names describe this exam. Verified against AWS documentation and the SOA-C03 exam guide v1.1 as of September 2026. Not affiliated with or endorsed by AWS.
