The complete AWS Certified Developer - Associate (DVA-C02) course. 10 hours 58 minutes, all four exam domains at their published weights, 124 worked scenarios and three practice exams. Every scenario is original. Nothing here is a reproduced question bank. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHY THIS COURSE IS DIFFERENT Almost nobody fails DVA-C02 because a service is unfamiliar. They fail because all four options would work, and only one respects a constraint buried in the third sentence. So this course is built around the decision, not the service. Ref against GetAtt, reserved against provisioned concurrency, metric filter against subscription filter - each with the word separating them. Every scenario names the sentence that decides the answer, and explains why each WRONG option is wrong. Understanding why a distractor fails transfers to unseen questions. ▸ 124 worked scenarios, every option explained ▸ 50 confusion pairs the exam sets side by side ▸ A module on exam technique: qualifiers and the six distractor patterns ▸ Three practice exams, 60 questions weighted to the real paper, no repeats ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT CHANGED UNDER THE EXAM The exam guide is v2.1, published 12 December 2024. This course flags 22 changes since, where each is taught. Lambda cold starts are the sharpest test of whether a source is current. Any course still saying initialisation is unbilled predates 1 August 2025, when INIT duration became billable for ZIP functions on managed runtimes. Certification content also lags the catalogue. S3 Select closed to new customers in July 2024 and is still the documented answer. CodeCommit closed in June 2024 then REOPENED in November 2025, so material from that period is wrong in both directions. Module 31 has the full list with dates. The rule throughout: answer from the exam guide, know the gap, and do not let the second talk you out of the first. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE EXAM 65 questions in 130 minutes. 50 scored, 15 unscored and not identified. You need 720 out of 1000 on a compensatory basis - you do not need to pass every domain, only the exam overall. No penalty for guessing, so never leave a blank. If English is not your first language, request the ESL +30 minutes accommodation in your AWS Certification account BEFORE you schedule. Most who qualify never do. DOMAIN WEIGHTS Domain 1 - Development with AWS Services: 32% Domain 2 - Security: 26% Domain 3 - Deployment: 24% Domain 4 - Troubleshooting and Optimization: 18% ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ HOW TO USE THIS COURSE 1. Watch in order. Later modules assume earlier vocabulary. 2. Pause at each scenario and commit to an answer first. 3. Take Practice Exam 1 after the teaching modules. Score it BY DOMAIN. 4. Review every wrong answer until you can say why all four options are right or wrong. Then Exam 2. 5. Leave several days before Exam 3. Recall after a gap predicts a pass. 6. Rewatch Confusion Pairs (8:57:47) and The Revision Gap (9:29:14) the night before. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ CHAPTERS 0:00 How This Course Works 6:40 The Developer's Mental Model 20:04 The AWS SDK and the API Request Lifecycle 34:51 Lambda I - The Execution Model 56:13 Lambda II - Concurrency and Cold Starts 1:15:19 Lambda III - Event Sources and Failures 1:35:32 Lambda IV - Streaming, Edge and What Changed 1:52:11 DynamoDB I - Keys, Partitions and Indexes 2:12:21 DynamoDB II - Reading, Writing and Capacity 2:32:29 Amazon S3 for Developers 2:51:08 Caching, Relational Data and Choosing a Store 3:07:50 Amazon API Gateway 3:29:16 Decoupling with SQS, SNS and EventBridge 3:48:29 Step Functions and Orchestration 4:05:07 Containers, Beanstalk and the Rest of Compute 4:22:36 IAM Policies and How Access Is Decided 4:44:40 Roles, Temporary Credentials and the Credential Chain 5:04:26 Amazon Cognito 5:26:18 AWS KMS and Encryption in Practice 5:47:43 Secrets, Parameters and Configuration 6:05:38 AWS CloudFormation 6:27:13 AWS SAM and the CDK 6:46:11 CI/CD - CodePipeline, CodeBuild and CodeArtifact 7:05:24 CodeDeploy and Deployment Strategies 7:24:34 Lambda Versions, Aliases and Safe Releases 7:40:52 CloudWatch - Logs, Metrics and Alarms 8:01:08 Tracing with X-Ray and Application Signals 8:19:26 Troubleshooting - Errors, Throttling and Retries 8:40:22 Performance and Cost Optimisation 8:57:47 Confusion Pairs 9:15:02 How DVA-C02 Questions Are Written 9:29:14 The Revision Gap 9:41:44 Practice Exam 1 10:07:02 Practice Exam 2 10:32:40 Practice Exam 3 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHO THIS IS FOR AWS describes the target candidate as having one or more years of hands-on experience building and maintaining AWS applications.
