Why Give Up

The original lyrics to this song were written by William (Layton) Nelson when I was a young adult singing with his group, Pliadese. From the very beginning, William knew that this song was meant for me to sing. Although the song was never published, it remained with me throughout the years. Today, with William’s permission, I have revisited those original lyrics and added new words that reflect who I am and where I am in my life today. The heart and essence of his original song remain, but I have expanded and adapted it to express my faith, my experiences, and my relationship with God as an adult. What began as a song given to me in my youth has now become a song that speaks to me in a new season of my life. I am grateful to William Nelson for writing the original lyrics and for giving me permission to make the song my own once again.
