Landing at Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery Niagara Region Ontario. Private Grass Strip

Well... My buddy Wayne @skyhawkadventures9374 and I have definitely increased our level of sophistication. We have graduated from our usual lunch flights to wine flights. We were excited to have an opportunity to fly into a unique grass strip set along the rows of wine grapes at the Sue-Ann Staff Estate Winery near Jordan Ontario on the Niagara Peninsula. The landing was a little challenging with tall trees at the at the approach end of the 2300' ish beautifully maintained grass strip. The video starts as I turn onto a left base where you can sort of see Niagara Falls straight in the distance. The cameras really don't capture it but it was quite visible with with real eyes. I came in a bit high with a bit more than normal descent rate so I could see more of the strip and give myself a chance to land as close to the threshold as was possible. Once I cleared the trees I did a forward slip dropping the Piper down like an elevator. I then straightened out and added some power to arrest the descent before touch down. I figure this method allowed me to land a few hundred feet sooner than if I had just flown a normal approach. I always like to get on the ground as early as possible on short grass strips to give me plenty of slowdown options. For you student pilots, this is definitely an example of clearing a "50' Obstacle". Once on the ground the incredibly nice and welcoming owner of the vineyard, Sue-Ann, gave us an nice tour of the facilities and explained some of the wine making procedures. We picked up some bottles to take home and off we went. Takeoff was straight North and as soon as I was airborne I noticed I was pointing straight at the Toronto skyline on the other side of Lake Ontario. Niagara Falls on base, Toronto on takeoff. Seemed neat to me anyway at the time...
