January did NOT go according to plan.
Welcome back to Episode 6 of our Farming Simulator 25 Rags to Riches challenge on Zielonka!
We entered January with a pretty ambitious goal: grind enough contracts to reach roughly $80,000, get closer to buying our next field, and hopefully put ourselves in position to finally start building the greenhouse operation.
There was just one problem...
Nobody wanted to give us any work.
January turns into one of the slowest months we've had so far. With mowing and weeding basically off the table for winter, we're left hoping for cultivating, fertilizing and plowing contracts.
Eventually we have to buy our own plow and take whatever work we can get.
And with our small tractor and tiny plow, some of those fields take a LONG time.
We keep pushing through the day hoping more contracts will appear, but the work never really materializes. Deadwood contracts help fill some of the gaps, but they aren't enough to get us anywhere near the goal we set at the beginning of the month.
By the end of January, we've only advanced roughly $17,000 after buying the plow and covering repairs and fuel.
Not every month in a Rags to Riches challenge can be a big win.
Sometimes you just have to survive the slow months and keep grinding.
