Why did BMC take down Dia Mirza's 'pollution-free diwali' video?

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, or BMC, had roped in several celebrities for a campaign asking citizens to avoid firecrackers and be mindful of air and noise pollution during the festival. But after Mumbai BJP president Ameet Satam objected to Dia Mirza’s inclusion, the civic body removed her video from its social media accounts. The decision has since triggered a political debate. Opposition leaders accused the BMC of yielding to political pressure, while BJP leaders questioned the actor’s intentions and her comments on Hindu festivals.
