Urgent Cargo Across the Border – Rushing to Rescue 2 Cambodian Rice Trucks

Join us on another real journey along the Mekong River as we travel from Vietnam into Cambodia to load rice for our boat. This trip is more urgent than usual, so we have to travel fast, even against a strong current and higher fuel consumption. After completing the border procedures, we continue deep into Cambodia to reach the rice loading area. Once we arrive, several trucks are already waiting with freshly harvested rice. We spend two days in Cambodia loading the boat, watching the rice being weighed, inspected, and transported by conveyor belt into our cargo hold. Each truck carries around 30–35 tons of rice, and with our larger new boat, we have to carefully distribute the rice to keep the boat balanced and safe. While the workers are busy loading, we also share small moments of daily life, from getting drinking water for the crew to working together under the hot Cambodian sun. This is more than just a rice-loading trip. It is a glimpse into the real working life of people living and working on the Mekong River.
