Welcome back to Day 26 of my daily Mumbai diaries! 🛋️✨ Today was supposed to be a breezy pre-Diwali Saturday. Our Principal Architect generously granted the entire studio an official half-day starting at 1:00 PM so everyone could head out, shop, and kick off the festive weekend. My group of friends had the entire afternoon planned down to the minute: lunch, festive shopping, and dessert. But right at 1:00 PM, corporate conditioning reared its ugly head. The senior team leads—who have been at the studio for 3–4 years and genuinely seem to have zero personal life—began aggressively guilt-tripping everyone. From arguing that "half-day means leaving at 4:00 PM or 6:00 PM" to actively complaining about being given time off because "what will we even do at home?!" Watching junior teammates succumb to unnecessary guilt and stay back without urgent deadlines breaks my heart. So today, I decided to be the loud boundary-enforcer: called out the nonsense, rallied the girls, picked up our bags, and marched everyone out the door.
