Three championships. Three torn ACLs. And everything that came with it.
In Episode 3 of It’s Supposed to Be Hard, Meg sits down with Caroline Doty — a three-time UConn national champion whose road through college basketball was anything but easy.
Caroline talks about the physical recovery, the mental toll of being sidelined, the identity crisis that can come when the thing you’ve built your life around suddenly disappears — and the people who helped her find her way back.
She also gives us the inside scoop on life at UConn, playing alongside Renee Montgomery, Maya Moore, Tina Charles, Tiffany Hayes, Kalana Greene, Breanna Stewart and many more. She talks about what Geno (Auriemma) was like when things got hard, and how the lessons she learned through basketball, injury and recovery carried into everything that came next — including coaching, sales, relationships and now motherhood.
And yes, her biggest trophy of all — baby Henry — makes a star appearance at the end. ⭐
P.S. Real is REAL here. There is no big production crew hiding off camera. So if you hear a leaf blower, notice a camera flicker or catch a little pre-podcast banter… welcome behind the scenes! We’re learning as we go, because apparently the podcast itself is supposed to be hard. 😂
