I was born with pectus excavatum, a chest deformity that caved in my sternum. I've had many surgeries across two countries, was told at one point I could never be fixed, and spent decades hiding my chest from everyone I dated. Along the way, addiction to alcohol, weed, and pornography became a way to cope with the shame. This is the full story of my pectus excavatum, my recovery, and how I finally learned to accept my body.
