We step aboard the historic Ötscherbär panoramic train to experience breathtaking mountain views, massive viaducts, and pure vintage rail nostalgia.
Travel on the longest narrow gauge railway in the Austrian Alps, on a 85 km long route that opened between 1905 and 1907.
The true highlight is the open gondola car for sweeping views of the surrounding scenery and the many hairpin curves and viaducs on the mountain section of the route between Laubenbachmühle and Mariazell. Hauled by the venerable, rod-driven Siemens electric locomotive E11 from 1912.
