Wife’s Husband Attempted to Push Her Off Hawaii Cliff: State

Opening statements began in the case against Dr. Gerhardt Konig on Thursday. He is accused of attempting to kill his wife while the two were on a hike in Honolulu. According to investigators, Dr. Konig allegedly pushed his wife toward a cliff, tried to inject her with a syringe, and struck her repeatedly with a lava rock. The state told this exact story during their opening statements and also said that his wife was having an affair, and he was at the end of his rope.
