“You can ignore your feelings. But you can't always control where that ignored emotion eventually shows up.” Imagine you're frustrated at work. But you tell yourself: “It's nothing.” You feel disappointed. “I'm being too sensitive.” You're exhausted. “Everyone is tired.” You feel hurt. “Just move on.” One time may not seem like much. But imagine doing this repeatedly. You may become disconnected from what you actually need. You may find yourself saying yes when you want to say no. You may become increasingly irritable. You might suddenly cry over something that seems insignificant. You may struggle to understand why you're constantly exhausted. Or you may simply say: “I don't know what I feel anymore.” This doesn't mean that every physical or psychological symptom is caused by suppressed emotions. There can be many factors involved. But consistently dismissing your emotional experiences can make it harder to understand yourself and respond to your needs. And this is especially common among high-functioning professionals. Because from the outside, everything may look perfectly fine. You're working. You're achieving. You're meeting deadlines. You're showing up. But internally? You may be running on empty. So perhaps the question isn't: “How can I become less emotional?” Maybe it's: “How can I become better at listening to myself?” Your feelings deserve attention—not because they're always right, but because they're part of your human experience. “If you've been functioning well on the outside but struggling internally, you can reach out to me for a 1:1 counselling session. You don't need to wait until you're completely overwhelmed to ask for support.” Connect with me: For Counselling sessions - please fill up the form - https://forms.gle/qyuukeAVzeXb4MqR9 Website: www.shwethakrish.com Email: shwetha.ck22@gmail.com Instagram: @letsgetnatured Linkedin:  / shwethakrish   Medium:   / shwetha-krish
