This month, I solo hiked 80km through the Peruvian Andes on the famous Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, one of the most spectacular trekking routes in Peru.
Over several days, the trail climbs to nearly 15,000 feet at Salkantay Pass before descending through remote mountain landscapes, cloud forest, and the Santa Teresa Valley. The journey eventually leads to the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu.
Along the way, I cross high-altitude mountain passes, descend into the jungle, and visit Pallay Punchu, the incredible multicolored mountain near Cusco, Peru.
If you're planning a Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, looking for inspiration for hiking in Peru, or simply enjoy immersive hiking and adventure films, come along for the journey.
