A 60-minute listening session for work, reading and focus time, combining soft music with a quiet river recording.
Use stereo headphones and start at a comfortable volume.
AUDIO & VISUAL
• 40 Hz binaural frequency difference: left 320 Hz / right 360 Hz; pair center 340 Hz
• 55 BPM, G pentatonic; soft sustained tones and Sweep Pad arpeggios
• Wood-resonator low drone, subtle recorded river ambience, a very quiet pink-noise floor and spacious reverb
• No vocals, lyrics or drums
• Duration: 60 minutes
• Music, drone and binaural carriers are generated continuously for the full session
• The river recording repeats with crossfades; the decorative visual repeats every five minutes
RESEARCH CONTEXT
The 40 Hz / 340 Hz condition is informed by Melnichuk et al. (2025), a sustained-attention experiment. Some conditions improved average task performance, while the overall effect on declining attention was limited.
This music-and-river arrangement does not reproduce the study's sound pressure, intervention duration or task. Improved focus is not guaranteed, and brain responses should not be equated with everyday performance.
