Climbing Mount Jefferson in January is Most Certainly Definitely Not a Terrible Idea

Here it is, the big one. Mount Jefferson in New Hampshire, ascent took place on January 17th 2025. Wore snowshoes the whole way. Skip to the end of the video to find a map of the route as well as trail stats. The whole operation took about 9 hours or so. Some deep snow on the way up the Jewell trail really slowed us down. Took the Jewell Trail, then the Gulfside Trail to summit of Jefferson. Thanks again to professional, and highly qualified, mountain guide Brian from Synnott Mountain Guides, based in Intervale NH. Unless you are an expert mountaineer, I do not recommend doing this without professional guidance. Temperature was maybe single digits Fahrenheit or so on the ridge, with windchill being about 0.
