Los Angeles in 1949, in real Kodachrome color. Not colorized, not AI. The Los Angeles Fire Department made "Your Fire Department" as a training and public relations film, and in doing so recorded the city itself: the fire stations built to match their neighborhoods, streets of wooden bungalows, oil derricks downtown, brush fires in the hills, the fireboat at San Pedro, the Sixth Street Viaduct over the dry Los Angeles River, the newly renamed Los Angeles International Airport, and the Earl Carroll Theatre on Sunset at night.
