On November 17, 2011, a prerecorded episode of The People’s Court showed Michelle Parker and her former fiancé, Dale Smith Jr., arguing over a missing engagement ring. Hours later, the Orlando mother of three disappeared.
Her black Hummer was found abandoned with its identifying decals removed. Her phone was later recovered from Lake Conway. Police publicly named Smith as their only suspect, but for almost 15 years no arrest followed.
On October 14, 2026, Orlando police arrested Dale Smith Jr. and charged him with second-degree murder. Investigators say a fresh review of phones, computers, vehicles, witness testimony, and conflicting statements—using modern digital forensics—finally moved the case forward. The 46-page affidavit supporting the arrest remains sealed, and Michelle’s body has not been recovered.
This documentary reconstructs Michelle’s final known hours, the Hummer and phone evidence, the searches that followed, and the difficult questions prosecutors now face in a no-body murder case.
Dale Smith Jr. has pleaded not guilty and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
