Sanding and Polishing Snowflake Obsidian

I bought a piece of snowflake obsidian at the rock and gem show but wanted to have one side polished to compare with the rough surface. The guy I bought it from said he just uses sandpaper so I thought I'd give it a try. Sorry the audio is poor, forgot to remove protective housing from my GoPro, rookie mistake.
