NYC: Travel Day, Madame Tussauds, Holiday Inn Express Times Square Room Tour, Gayle's, Lion King

It’s an extra special travel day! It’s also the start of a new series. Welcome to Rowan’s 18th birthday trip to New York City! In this first video, Melissa and Rowan flies Delta to NYC. After arriving in the city, they check their luggage and head over to Madame Tussauds New York. Melissa thinks this Madame Tussauds is one of the better ones. Rowan came in first place for the day on the 7D Carnival Ride! After having some fun at Tussauds, they get some lunch at Joe’s Pizza. They had to bring the pizza back to the hotel, so it was cold by the time they got to eat it, but it was still good! Melissa gives you a tour of the room. They are staying at Holiday Inn Express New York City Time Square. Located at 343 West 39th Street. It’s close to Times Square but it’s really in the main area. You will have a bit of a walk to the action. Melissa will share more on this hotel but overall, she would NOT suggest it or stay here again. After some unpacking and rest, they head over to Gayle’s Broadway Rose. This is a restaurant inside the Edison Hotel. In the evenings they have singing waitstaff. It’s a very fun environment, loud, but fun. Melissa would suggest this restaurant. You will want to make a reservation. After a fun and yummy dinner, they head over to the Minskoff Theatre to see Lion King. Melissa and Rowan loved this show so much! It was beautiful, and Melissa highly suggests you see this show. Melissa plans to see the traveling version in 2027! That brings an end to day 1! This was in 2025.
